Cutting cattle out of a herd is an age-old skill that is a necessity for any cowboy, and it’s been described as a “battle of wills between a horse and a cow.”
Those skills are on display for the next 10 days at the Cascades Futurity, a cutting horse competition at the Deschutes County Fairgrounds.
Central Oregon Daily videographer Matt Pugerude went to the fairgrounds to capture the sights and sounds of this uniquely western event.
