Historic Restoration Efforts of Whychus Creek

More than 50 years of man-made engineering has changed the path and nature of Whychus Creek in Central Oregon, endangering the survival of young fish, fauna and the eco-system of the entire area. That’s why the Deschutes Land Trust is working with other non-profit and governmental and tribal agencies to restore the natural flow along a six-mile run of Whychus Creek.

As Central Oregon Daily’s Brian Jennings reports, that restoration effort started at Whychus Canyon with a massive dig and transfer of fish.
