Madras is Gearing Up for Solar Eclipse with Oregon Solarfest

If you want to see “The Great American Eclipse,” you will need to be in Madras, Oregon on August 21 for the center line of totality to experience the 2017 Total Solar Eclipse.  The world’s greatest natural phenomenon will be the first coast-to-coast total solar eclipse in America since 1918 and Madras is only one of the three official viewing locations across the Continental U.S.

Sandra Forman of Jefferson County Tourism Group and event coordinator for Oregon Solarfest joined Central Oregon Daily at 3pm to give us all the details on the 4-day festival surrounding the eclipse. From camping, glamping, a Kids Dome, and NASA telescopes, this will be an unforgettable event not to be missed.
