Madras Girls Soccer Team Fights for a Playoff Spot

The Mountain View/Bend High School Civil War football game wasn’t the only big sports matchup in Central Oregon on Friday. The girls soccer team at Madras High School hasn’t been to the playoffs since 2003, but this year they put themselves in contention for a spot in the postseason.

On Friday afternoon, it was “win or go home” for the Lady Buffaloes in a play-in game versus Yamhill-Carlton.

Central Oregon Daily’s Eric Lindstrom has the story.

***UPDATE – Madras White Buffaloes lose a heartbreaker to end their season. After being up 1-0 at Halftime, Madras gave up the tying goal in the 71st minute and after two scoreless periods of Extra Time, the game went to penalty kicks and Yamhill-Carlton outscored Madras 3-2 to win the game 4-3 and advance to the 4A Playoffs. Congrats to the Lady Buffaloes on a hard-fought season.***
