Peaceful Protest Over Future DACA Decision Takes Place in Bend

A battle over a spending bill to keep the federal government running could come down to a decision on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA.

An estimated 15,000 people marched on Capitol Hill Wednesday while hundreds, including two lawmakers, were arrested in a peaceful protest to demand that Congress pass a so-called clean Dream Act, as part of a proposed spending bill.

Central Oregon Daily’s Lisa Carton reports on a local DACA rally that happened in Bend on Wednesday afternoon.
