State Act Loophole Causes Local Attraction To Close

The Maple Bridge Arches Climbing Project in Redmond is one of the few overhang climbing routes in the country, a place where new and experienced climbers can practice one of the toughest moves in the sport: holding on while being upside down. It’s been a huge draw for rock climbing enthusiasts since it’s opened in 2015, but tonight it’s off-limits because of a legal issue stemming from an accident that happened six years ago at a park in Portland.

Central Oregon Daily’s Anyssa Bohanan investigated. State lawmakers may have to get involved to reopen he Redmond attraction.
