Supper Club: City Club of Central Oregon – Carbon Pricing in Oregon

Back in 2007, the Oregon legislature set ambitious goals for reducing carbon pollution across the state, and now, some state lawmakers are pushing for new legislation in 2019 to set a price on carbon in what is known as a “cap and invest” program.

There’s a special team within the Bend Police Department who handle all of the mental health crisis calls, which can range anywhere from five to 15 calls a day.

The recent shooting at a high school in Parkland, Florida has re-ignited the national debate over guns. However, there is one issue that all sides can agree on: something has to be done to help people with mental health issues before they commit mass shootings.

These three young women, Lauren Hough, Emma Smith and Vinna Ottaviano, are smart, passionate and adamant about change. And by that, they mean digging down deep, looking at our society and culture and figuring out how we can all come together to make our world a safer place, prevent needless deaths, while still respecting our freedoms as Americans.
