Taste This! – Drake and Washington Restaurants

Our favorite foodie, Donna Britt, is back with us for the latest edition of Taste This! This week, we have a double play as she visits the Drake in Downtown Bend and Washington in Northwest Crossing with the fellow who owns both places.

Join Donna as she experiences the philosophy behind these two popular places and tastes their yummy food–and of course, a couple of their handcrafted one-of-a-kind drinks!

Thanks to Ted Swigert for taking the time to show us around and to the entire staff at Drake and Washington. A special thanks to our sponsor, Newport Avenue Market, for giving us the time and resources to bring you this delightful culinary feature each week. Life is short. Eat good food.

Sun Spot Drive-In in Terrebonne

In a world where Yelp reviews rule the restaurant industry and the next hottest thing is always on the menu, it’s a welcome sight to see a place that hasn’t changed in decades. You’ve probably driven by the Sun Spot Drive-In in Terrebonne, but have you ever stopped in to see what the diner has to offer?

Central Oregon Daily’s Mackenzie Wilson found out that what keeps people coming back is much more than the dishes they put out from sun up to sun down.

Destination Oregon: Terrebone Depot

The Terrebonne train depot played a vital role in the growth of Central Oregon when it was first built more than a hundred years ago in 1911, but after it was abandoned in the 1950’s it sat empty for nearly a half-century, before new owners renovated the old station into a restaurant in 2004.

In this week’s Destination Oregon, sponsored by Robberson Ford, Central Oregon Daily’s Mackenzie Wilson takes you to the 21st-century version of Terrebonne Depot.
