It’s that time of year when fire officials start lighting controlled burns to get rid of potential fuels on the ground for the upcoming wildfire season.

Newest Member of High Desert Museum Makes His Debut

He spent almost four months learning how to swim, eat and socialize without the help of his mother. Now, a 26-week-old otter is making his public debut at The High Desert Museum.

Potential Impact on Museums in Central Oregon

Among the cuts proposed in President Trump’s budget plan is the elimination of an agency called the Institute of Museum and Library Services or IMLS. It’s a federal funding source for more than 120,000 libraries and 35,000 museums across the United States.
