Source on the Scene: Pole Pedal Paddle Preview

It seemed like such a fun idea to field a Central Oregon Daily team for this year’s SELCO Pole Pedal Paddle until we realized we had to find somebody to perform in six different challenging events. For this week’s Source on the Scene, Allison Roecker looks at how we built our squad for Central Oregon’s largest multi-sport event.

Source on the Scene: Steel Stampede

The annual Crooked River Ranch Steel Stampede is a motorcycle race with a catch. Anyone can participate, but the bike has to be vintage from at least the 1970’s, or older.

Central Oregon Daily’s Allison Roecker had the chance to go out to Crooked River Ranch for a preview of this weekend’s event. This event is about more than just the race, there’s a shop and swap event, vendors, food trucks and beer from Wild Ride Brewing.

The action starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. on Sunday. For more information head to the Steel Stampede’s Facebook page.

Source on the Scene: Hell’s Belles

When you think of AC/DC, you probably think of all those long-haired rockers screaming at the top of their lungs on stage. Well, that is pretty much what it is like to see Hell’s Belles, who are playing Friday night at Oregon WinterFest, except those “guys” are actually hard-rocking women. Central Oregon Daily’s Anyssa Bohanan has the story in this week’s Source on the Scene.

“All The Rage” Film Plays at BendFilm Festival

What happens when you suppress “all the rage” and emotional trauma? For filmmaker, Michael Galinsky and millions of others, it’s chronic pain. That’s why he documented his work with Dr. Sarno, who teaches him about the connection between mind and body, and how to use it to overcome his chronic back pain.

Central Oregon Daily’s Chris Biggs skyped with filmmaker Michael Galinsky and his wife who co-directed the film, Suki Hawley, before Michael headed to Bend.
