If you had to name one NFL team that set the bar for the rest of the league since the turn of the century, it would have to be the defending Super Bowl champions, the New England Patriots. As they get ready to play their first preseason game Thursday night, two rookies from Bend will step on the field, hoping to realize their dreams of playing in the NFL.
Central Oregon Daily’s Eric Lindstrom gives us an update on the Hollister twins, Jacob and Cody, as they go through the hard knocks of an NFL training camp.
UPDATE: Bend’s own Jacob Hollister made a big impression in the team’s first preseason game versus the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday night with seven catches for 116 yards. The tight end is trying to earn a spot behind veterans Rob Gronkowski and Dwayne Allen. Jacob’s twin brother, Cody, had been nursing a sore shoulder in training camp this week and hopes to see some action in the 2nd preseason game next week.
